On an average, the molecular weight of UHMWPE is ten times higher than that of high density polyethylene resins. The have excellent wear and abrasion resistance, and are extremely durable and versatile in application. Hence, these materials are being used in several industries and applications, where a material with a lower molecular weight creates problems in application.
